Council Bluffs Country Club is a classic design championship golf course. The front nine offers slightly more room off the tee than the back, however still requires precision with the irons as smaller greens are a theme throughout the entire course. This side is highlighted by a 3 hole stretch in which water is a factor. Hole #5 is a dogleg left par 5 in which longer hitters can cut off distance by tempting their fate over the pond. #6 is a difficult par 4 where 2 ponds come into play on both the left and right side of the fairway. This stretch is finished off with a 170 yard par 3 over water to a small green. Every hole on the backside is lined with giant cotton wood trees that have been around since the beginning of this century. The course is always in pristine condition with greens considered to be among the best in the metro. This course which once hosted the Iowa Open is looking forward to holding another open championship.

 

The practice facility offers ample teeing ground with multiple targets, a practice bunker and chipping green. Council Bluffs Country Club also offers all of the amenities of any first class club. This includes new pool, formal dining, lounge, tennis courts, locker rooms and club storage. This is one of the best kept secrets in the metro area.
